Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp- Waco: Reviews & Ratings
We had a good experience at Tia Juanita’s overall. I ordered the Texas redfish and really enjoyed it, the fish was flavorful and the sauce paired with it very well, I however did not get my side salad. My fiancé had the fried shrimp and fish basket, he thought it was okay, but not anything crazy. I also ordered a Moscow mule just to try it, and it was mostly soda and syrup, but it was still fine. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very busy and loud, very packed. It didn’t really bother us, but it might be something to note for others. We waited about 20 minutes for a table for two, which wasn’t a big issue. Our server, Kaitlynn, was very sweet and bubbly, and despite how busy it was, she did a great job juggling her tables and making sure we were taken care of.
We came for a very late dinner on friday night(hour and half before closing) we were not rushed to eat and leave. Steph G. is an Awesome waitress!! She's knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. My wife had the top shelf margarita and i had the bomb pop margarita. As for the food, it was delicious and hot! I ordered the 5 piece fried fish and jumbo shrimp basket. My wife ordered the seafood enchiladas. We also had the crawfish queso as an appetizer. We highly recommend Tia Juanitas and Steph G as .
My friend and I came for dinner here and we loved it! Ashley took really good care of us and gave us some great recommendations. We started off with some tea and alligator bites, which I couldn't get enough of. The gator came out hot and had a good, savory flavor. We split two entrees: The Seafood Platter and the Redfish Tacos (both of which came with a salad). The fish and shrimp tasted fresh and the hushpuppies were some of the best I've had!. For dessert, we got the cheesecake which was a great way to end the nice! It wasn't overly sweet either, and so I didn't feel stuffed by the end. The atmosphere made me feel like I was dropped into Galveston or Louisiana. The walls were plastered with all sorts of Country and Rock musicians which my friend and I had fun naming off. There was even live music too, which was the cherry on top! 100% would come back again! Thinking about getting the huge bucket of crawfish next time.
This is a fantastic restaurant with an extensive menu featuring a variety of delicious food and drinks. While their vegan options are limited to only veggie fajitas, I still strongly recommend visiting this place for its quality and atmosphere. Additionally, I would enjoy sitting at the bar, which has a warm and inviting ambiance that makes for a relaxing experience with friends or family!
Absolutely amazing place for lunch or dinner. I’ve been 3 times with family and I was absolutely blown away every time. I’ve stuck with the Boudin Quesadillas every time I’ve been and they were AMAZING. Their spicy guacamole was great, and their chips are surprisingly great ( I don’t even know what makes them different lol). Everything we’ve ordered over all has been a HIT. I will say that it’s packed most of the time just the inside is absolutely massive so the wait is usually very short. Definitely 10000% recommend if you’re in the area.
OMGEEZ ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUSO!!! Food was Fire!! Bread bowl was a sight to behold!! Hubby loved the fried cajun ribs especially the jalapeño jelly, and shrimp was perfectly seasoned!! Waiter was personable, kind, and timely. 10 out of 10 recommend!!
First time Dining here. We had the fried fish basket with fries, fish with veggies on the side and stuffed mushrooms. The fish in both dishes were delicious. The atmosphere is great. Had a margarita it was very good. Great customer service. Highly reccomend.
We got the red fish tacos, and the crawfish po boy as our entrées. For an appetizer, we got a Boudin balls and the crabcakes. Everything was very good. Boudin was not my favorite but I am a snob when it comes to that lol. But my husband enjoyed it a lot. The crab cakes were fresh so very flavorful. Also the portion sizes were very big! Will be coming back here!
